Stockton Springs, Maine • September 11, 2010 - - Nathaniel and Esther Crowley celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with family at their son and daughter-in-law's home in Stockton Springs on Saturday afternoon.
Nathaniel Crowley was born in Winthrop MA in 1917. He meet Esther Whitman while they were both attending UMaine in 1939. They married on September 14, 1940 and raised ten children. Nat was a WW II Air Force veteran, teacher, coach, college administrator, and Maine House representative. Esther was born in Dover-Foxcroft in 1921. She was a home maker, caterer, food service administrator, and apple character artist.
Throughout their many years together they have lived in Bangor, Portland, Auburn, Lewiston, and Fort Kent before retiring. Today they enjoy living in their home on Cape Jellison in Stockton Springs and keeping in contact with family and friends. In addition to their ten children, they have 25 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
